disseminated intravascular coagulation

DIC syndrome (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation) is a most common cause of an abnormal hemorrhage tendency during pregnancy and the puerperium, which may be induced by amniotic fluid embolism, abruptio placentae, fetal death and more.

The onset of amniotic fluid embolism is quite rapid, many patients have died before results of laboratory tests’ coming out, and it is often misdiagnosed as other diseases, such as purpura, congestive heart failure and more, which makes detection of DIC syndrome markers extremely important.

D-Dimer, for its traits of high specificity and strong anti-interference capacity, is widely used as a conventional clinical indicator for distinguishing amniotic fluid embolism caused by DIC syndrome and monitoring its course of treatment.

And the detection of D-Dimer can be done by Fluorescence Immunoassay Analyzer, a point-of-care (POCT) device that can get D-Dimer test results in just 10 minutes with only 100μL blood sample, and it’s easy to operate, which may spare extremely valuable time for medication of amniotic fluid embolism, as so to save more lives of delivery women suffering from amniotic fluid embolism and other diseases during pregnancy and postpartum.
