Five Covid-19 rapid antigen kits recently approved by the Medical Device Administration of the Ministry of Health can be used for self-screening at home

The Salixium Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test is a combined nasal and saliva swab test, which is less invasive than the RT-PCR test and can display results in about 15 minutes. Each kit contains a disposable swab for a single test, a waste bag for safe disposal, and an extraction buffer tube into which the nasal swab and saliva swab must be placed after the sample is collected.
The kit also comes with a unique QR code, supported by Salixium and MySejahtera applications, for report results and test tracking. This disposable test kit uses saliva samples to detect the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, and results are available in about 15 minutes. Its sensitivity rate is 93.1%, and its specificity rate is 100%.
The kit includes a test device, collection device, buffer, packaging instructions and a biosafety bag for safe disposal. The QR code of the kit generates a result certificate associated with the GPnow telemedicine service. The self-test kit is manufactured by AllTest Biotech, Hangzhou, China. The manufacturer is the same as the manufacturer of the Beright Covid-19 antigen rapid test equipment and another self-test kit that has recently received conditional approval in Malaysia: JusChek Covid-19 antigen rapid test. Apart from the fact that it is distributed in Malaysia by Neopharma Biotech Asia Sdn Bhd, very little is known about the JusCheck Covid-19 antigen rapid test.

According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, individuals who test positive with the self-test kit must immediately bring the test results to the Covid-19 assessment center or health clinic, even if they do not show any symptoms. Individuals who test negative but show Covid-19 symptoms should go to a health clinic for further measures.
