Covid-19: Health DG stated that the sensitivity level of the two saliva self-test kits is higher than 90 pc

Kuala Lumpur (Brazil): Research conducted by the Institute of Medicine (IMR) found that two self-test devices (rapid antigen tests) that use saliva for Covid-19 screening have a sensitivity level of over 90%.
Director-General of Health Dr. Tan Sri Noshiyama (picture) stated that the research conducted by the IMR has been completed and detailed information on the guidelines for the use of the self-check kit is expected to be ready next week.
“IMR has completed the evaluation of two saliva self-test devices, both of which are more than 90% sensitive. The MDA (Medical Devices Administration) is detailing the guidelines for use, and Insha Allah (God willing) will complete the next week. “He said in a Twitter post on Wednesday (July 7).
In May of this year, Dr. Noor Hisham said that there are two companies selling this test kit in local pharmacies.
He said that by using saliva testing kits, individuals can detect Covid-19 without having to go to a medical institution for initial screening. -Bernama
