Belluscura, a medical device developer, has signed the first US distribution agreement for its X-PLO2R™ portable oxygen concentrator product portfolio.
Belluscura shared the news on Wednesday (June 23), saying that the move is part of a broader plan to appoint a US distributor to provide nationwide coverage for the X-PLO2R™ product portfolio.
X-PLO2R™ weighs less than 1.5 kg and is considered the world’s first modular oxygen concentrator, which produces more oxygen than any other product of its kind approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
X-PLO2R™ can provide patients with up to 95% pure oxygen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help improve the quality of life of millions of people with chronic lung disease and respiratory distress worldwide.
Commenting on the transaction, Robert Rauker, CEO of Belluscura, said: “We are very pleased with the positive reviews received from our distributors for the X-PLO2R™ portable oxygen concentrator.”
“We look forward to a commercial launch in the third quarter of 2021 and expect to sign some additional distribution agreements in the near future.”
The contracted distributor is located on the east coast of the United States and is a nationwide seller of supplemental oxygen equipment.
The company has issued its first purchase order and is expected to deliver the first batch of X-PLO2R™ oxygen concentrators in the third quarter.
Logistics company AP Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has shipped more than 6,000 oxygen generators, 500 oxygen cylinders, and several medical supplies and ventilators to India.
TVS Automotive said it will supply 2,000 oxygen generators to hospitals and medical centers in India to help the country fight the second wave of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection.
Tech giant Samsung is helping India fight Covid-19, and today (May 4) pledged to donate US$5 million to support the central and state governments and provide hospitals with necessary oxygen equipment to promote the development of the healthcare sector.
