“The reference value of triglyceride (TG) that helps to understand physical examination report”

(retrieved from MedicineNet)

<150 mg/dl   normal standard

150-200 mg/dL  borderline level

200 mg/dl   an increased risk of atherosclerosis

≥500mg/dl  pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)

When the physical examination report shows a borderline level value of triglyceride (TG), lots of patients don’t know how to deal with it, the initial thought that comes to their mind is taking medicine. Nevertheless, not all cases with higher TG rely on the medicine to solve it.

If triglyceride (TG) is not higher than 150 mg/dl, it would be better to reduce the value of triglyceride (TG) by healthy diet, avoid alcohol, eating less and doing more exercise.

Only under the condition that triglyceride (TG) is higher than 150 mg/dl, medicine treatment will be needed.

When it comes to the way to detect triglyceride (TG), most people think that they should go to hospital laboratory department. Nevertheless, most people don’t like to go to hospital laboratory department to do physical examination regularly, because they think they will be confronted with lots of problems, such as consuming too much time, the inconvenience for the elderly and so on.

As time goes, it may threat patients’ life if these problems have not been found timely.

To adapt to the changing market demand, Konsung medical developed one portable Biochemical Analyzer, it requires only 45μL of fingertip blood, the value of glucose, lipid(TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C), liver function (ALB, ALT, AST) and kidney function (Urea, Cre, UA) will be tested within 3 min, which brings more comfort and convenience for the patients. It can be applied in clinics, family physicians, pharmacies and bed-side test in hospitals and more.

Compared with large-size bio-chemistry equipment from 3A grade hospital, the CV (coefficient of variation) of Konsung Dry Biochemical Analyzer is almost the same as that of large-sized bio-chemistry equipment, showing less than 5.0%, which indicates it reaches clinical standard.
